1. The Diving Board (Kasteelpoort)

A photo opportunity for the very brave (and very careful, please) is the Diving Board rock on Table Mountain. It’s a pretty tough hike, taking between four and five hours, but it offers several spectacular viewpoints along the way.

2. Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel

Nestled on a lush garden estate in the heart of the city, this luxurious hotel an icon of Cape Town and – best of all – it’s PINK. The ideal spot to go to for afternoon tea or a cocktail for those Wes Anderson vibes.

3. Bo-Kaap

One of Cape Town’s most distinct neighbourhoods, Bo-Kaap is a multicultural melting pot of Malaysian, African, Indian and Sri Lankan culture. Its pastel-hued buildings, rainbow houses and vintage cars make it a beaut photo snapping spot.

4. Cape Point

A national park with dramatic scenery, fantastic hiking trails and deserted beaches that boast spectacular ocean views. Pop by the Two Oceans Restaurant for some of their famous seafood after your hike.

5. Babylonstoren

Babylonstoren is a historic Cape Dutch farm that’s been elegantly transformed into a hotel with its own vineyard, spa and rustic gardens. Wander around and get snap happy.

6. St James Beach

Known for its postcard perfect colourful beach huts and pristine rock pools, St James Beach is sheltered from Cape Town’s notorious winds,  making it an ideal spot for swimming. And y’know, Instagramming.

7. Kloof Corner

The ultimate sundowner spot, who needs an expensive rooftop bar when a mere 20 minute hike from the city lies Kloof Corner? Go for sunrise or sunset, but just go.
