Apple’s heavily-anticipated iPhone 8 will drop September 12, according to the French tech site Mac4Ever, which received leaked information from carrier sources.
According to the report, mobile phone operators have already received the official release date so they can prepare inventory and marketing plans.
While Apple hasn’t made an official announcement yet, the phone company has historically released new iPhone models in early September, so if you’re looking to cop one of the first devices, we’d pencil September 12 into your diary.
The 10th anniversary iPhone 8 is in line to be unveiled next month and while we already know how it’s going to look, a new video today from YouTuber Danny Winget offers a hands-on perspective at an alleged dummy iPhone 8 model.
Winget was able to acquire three high-quality dummy units and Apple is suggested to debut the highly-anticipated iPhone in three colors — silver, black, and copper gold — according to reputable leaker KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who covers technology with a focus on Apple for the Taiwanese business group.
While the all-black and silver/white models look sleek, Winget describes the new copper tone as a downgrade to the currently offered rose gold finish and even describes the iPhone looking “hideous in this color.”
